Sonus Networks recently unveiled the latest Sonus SBC Core portfolio software release with support for IP interface for network-to-network interconnection standards commonly used within Japan and the greater APAC region.
According to Sonus, this functionality helps Japanese and other APAC carriers meet strict Telecommunication Technology Committee (TTC) interconnection requirements at a lower cost, while providing a high-quality and secure experience to subscribers.
The new Sonus SBC 7000 is architected to scale up to 150,000 sessions in a single system with onboard DSPs for transcoding. This scalability simplifies and consolidates the DNS and IP peering configurations on NNI. Additionally, the Sonus SBC Core portfolio provides built-in Least Cost Routing, Local Number Portability and multimedia routing to simplify network management and reduce costs.
With advanced encryption and Denial of Service capabilities, the Sonus SBC Core portfolio provides security that scales as interconnection points grow. This functionality provides protection for the carriers’ core as well as partner networks from attacks.
