TelcoBridges at Asia Tech x Singapore 2022: Security and Interoperability to Drive Growing Need for Session Border Controllers

In conjunction with AsiaTech x Singapore 2022 taking place this week from the 31st of May to the 3rd of June, Tara Neal, Executive Editor at The Fast Mode spoke to Alan Percy, Chief Marketing Officer at TelcoBridges. In the brief interview, Alan discusses some of the company's showcases at the event as well as the factors pushing the demand for session border controllers.

Tara: Session Border Controllers are expected to play an important role in augmenting telecom operators' revenues - with optimized connectivity, better call experience and reduced fraud. Can you share your views on how the session border controller market has grown in the last few years, amidst the pandemic?

Alan: As adoption of VoIP and SIP continues to grow, the need for security and interoperability also grows. Session Border Controller software and hardware fill an important role in protecting service providers and their customers from a range of nefarious attacks and scams.

Tara: In mitigating fraud related to call/voice services, what are some of the aspects often overlooked by service providers and what does this cost them?

Alan: We are seeing strong demand for help with STIR/SHAKEN and Robocall Mitigation solutions with SBCs. As the North American governing bodies have required compliance for international calling, service providers around the globe will eventually be forced to implement both solutions.

Tara: Can you share with us some of the complexities in delivering secure and fast connectivity to SaaS voice platforms for enterprises and users?

Alan: A challenge in delivering Session Border Controller software lies on balancing the performance requirements with reliability. Large telecommunications systems can generate significant real-time traffic and must do so with high availability - every call is revenue to service providers.

Tara: Finally, are you excited to be part of ATxSG? What are your key showcases at the event?

Alan: As a Quebec-based company, we are thrilled to be at ATxSG and be part of the Quebec Canada pavilion. There is tremendous innovation coming from Quebec, and TelcoBridges is in the top-tier of innovators. TelcoBridges will be showcasing our Media Gateway, Signaling Gateway, Session Border Controller software, and services at ATxSG - all are explained in our introduction video: https://youtu.be/VyXICRo9daM
