SoftBank Mobile, the 2nd largest wireless carrier in Japan has deployed JDSU's ariesoGEO platform and GEO performance application across its 3G and LTE networks in downtown Tokyo. The ariesoGEO platform enables SoftBank to use location intelligence data from its network to improve customer satisfaction.

Using location intelligence, ariesoGEO provides information in near real-time about subscriber experience down to the individual subscriber level. Apart from helping MNOs assure service experience for their subscribers, the solution, says JDSU, also helps implement market segmentation policies, allowing MNOs to focus on select customer groups such as VIP corporate accounts.

According to JDSU, the geolocation solution caters for a number of applications including customer-centric radio access network planning, optimization and troubleshooting, enabling mobile network operators(MNOs) to perform traffic analysis, site design, RAN optimization, new service and network planning, and customer troubleshooting across their 2G, 3G and LTE networks.
