SK Telecom announced today that it has launched the A. Call Translator, a service that provides AI-based real-time interpretation during calls.

Users of A. can activate live translation by tapping the service icon at the bottom of the phone dial pad and selecting a language from Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese.

When users make a call using this service, the recipient of the call will be informed that the call will be processed through interpretation.

The A. Call Translator can be used by SK Telecom subscribers on their iPhone through the A. app and the person on the other end of the line does not need to be an iPhone user or A. app user.

Kim Yong-Hun, Chief AI Service Officer, SK Telecom

By combining telecommunications technology and AI, ‘A. Call Translation’ is expected to enhance user convenience and ease language barriers. We plan to expand support for various languages and evolve A. into a more personalized AI assistant service.
