Huawei, last week announced that it will provide key support to deliver Monaco Telecom’s converged ultra-broadband project to provide 100 Mbit/s to 1 Gbit/s access rates for broadband users in Monaco. Monaco Telecom will leverage Huawei's distributed converged cable access platform (D-CCAP) solution for unified management and remote node aggregation management of both its Fiber to the home (FTTH) and hybrid fiber/coax (HFC) cable network for converged network operations.
Huawei said that the new technology will help Monaco Telecom to save cost and achieve rapid network deployment. The D-CCAP solution will be used to manage both Monaco's cable and fiber networks. Monaco Telecom was previously building its network by utilizing the abundant cable TV pipelines in older buildings and fiber to the home (FTTH) cables in new properties on a separate architecture.
Huawei said that its D-CCAP solution has been widely adopted by companies such as Guangzhou Digital Media, Shenzhen Topway and WASU digital TV media group.
