Deutsche Telekom this week launched its European M2M Partner Program with the aim of bringing proven local M2M solutions to the rest of the European region. With the M2M and Internet-of-Things (IoT) becoming increasingly important as major business verticals for communications service providers, solutions in these segment are becoming highly sought after to support the roll out of M2M services for retail and enterprise customers.

With the M2M Partner Program, locally successful solution providers can now tap on the opportunities that abound in other markets in the region.  Partners accepted into the program, according to Deutsche Telekom can use the Deutsche Telekom Partner logo and receive support from the operator in expanding their presence to the other markets within the region. Deutsche Telekom said that at launch, the M2M Partner Program boasts 15 partners and 34 solutions, ranging from tracking solutions for forklifts to services for managing sensor data. The 15 partners come from Poland, the Netherlands, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary.

To be included in the partner program, the M2M solution providers must have had a successful partnership with a Deutsche Telekom Group national company, said Deutsche Telekom in its statement. To ensure that the partners joining the program can deliver what is expected of them at regional level, Deutsche Telekom said that they will be assessed based on target KPIs which will be reviewed every year. By bringing together all the best M2M solutions in one place, Deutsche expects customers in the European region to benefit from being able to access the multitude of services and offerings in the M2M space from the best solution providers.

Oliver Gediehn, Vice President Business Marketing Europe, Deutsche Telekom
The new program enables us to offer our local customers a broader range of tried-and-tested M2M solutions. At the same time, it allows us to assist partners our national companies already work together with effectively at local level in making their business more international. This way of working together with reliable partners represents a groundbreaking approach to M2M solutions business. It enables us to combine specialized industry knowledge with our high-availability networks, M2M technologies and services within our European footprint....... We ensure from the outset that the candidates are in a position to provide international customers with the same level of quality that we found so persuasive in their local markets.
