now TV Picks Edgeware's VCP to Launch Enhanced Cloud DVR, VOD & Multi-Screen Service

now TV, Hong Kong's largest quadruple-play pay-TV provider has selected Edgeware's Video Consolidation Platform (VCP) to deliver Cloud DVR, Catch-Up TV, VOD and Multiscreen Services to its 1.2 Million Subscribers. The company said that the new solution will replace now TV's existing IPTV delivery system.

According to Edgeware, the VCP solution has enabled now TV to launch an enhanced cloud DVR and time-shift services for their Super Sports Pack subscribers with instant recordings and playback of ongoing matches or scheduled recordings using a mobile device.

Edgeware, the leader in video delivery networks, said that the VCP enables now TV to efficiently deliver content to all device types without having to manage duplicate, siloed delivery networks and to handle large traffic peaks driven by its premium sports services. Edgeware's VCP platform efficiently records and caches cloud DVR content directly onto now TV's network, where recorded programs are stored for up to 10 days, said Edgeware.

"Edgeware has proven to be a very reliable and professional partner who provides an extremely stable and scalable platform. Based on the consolidation benefits and their highly-efficient cloud DVR solution, migrating more and more advanced video offerings onto the Edgeware VCP was a natural next step. now TV customers will be able to enjoy their on-demand content across multiple screens from set-top-box to mobile device, a truly anytime anywhere entertainment experience."
