Ethernity Networks has received an initial order from a new tier-1 North American aerospace OEM customer to provide its ENET Avionics Ethernet Switch firmware and software, integrated into Ethernity’s FPGA-based Universal Edge Platform (UEP) device, announced the company on Tuesday.

The order represents the customer’s selection of Ethernity’s Avionics Ethernet Switch for its initial offering, and pending the customer’s successful program execution, could lead to a significant expansion and further orders during 2021, which would include certification of Ethernity’s ENET Avionics Ethernet Switch for critical avionics operation.

Ethernity’s ENET Avionics Switch solution offers a specialized FPGA-based Ethernet switch with an optimized feature set to support the special reliability and safety requirements of the avionics industry. The next-generation aircraft data network addresses real-time flight issues by reacting to constant changes in conditions detected through sensors and communicated via specifically defined embedded systems and switches using deterministic Ethernet. The company’s Avionics Switch solution provides full support for the ARINC 664 Avionics Switched Ethernet network specification.

David Levi, Ethernity’s CEO
With the addition of a second tier-1 aerospace OEM customer, we have confirmation that our Avionics switch solution is a valuable asset within the military aerospace market.
