Acision, a global mobile services leader, introduces Diameter Intelligent Signalling Controller (DiSC), enabling operators to roll out LTE and Evolved Packet Switched core networks efficiently with the ability to dynamically control and manage increasing data traffic to drive efficiencies and protect their revenue streams.

According to Acision, the DiSC with dynamic multi-layer routing mechanisms, enables operators to develop an efficient Evolved Packet Switched Core network based on a future proof architecture, with increased resilience and smart signalling flow control. It adds, for example the pre-emptive overload protection helps to maintain the efficiency of Diameter traffic management during unexpected traffic peaks, or so called “signalling storms”. The Smart Quality of Service (QoS) management also helps to ensure guaranteed signalling channels for the operator’s most valuable subscribers and services under any load conditions. In addition, through the advanced Diameter interface control mechanisms, Acision DiSC also enables numerous LTE roaming and interconnect scenarios such as connectivity access control, topology hiding, volumetric traffic measurements and conditional protocol validations, enabling operators to ensure connectivity with other service providers regardless of whether their network is any combination of 2G, 3G or 4G, in a secure manner.

Adolfo Hernandez, CEO at Acision [credit:Acision]Adolfo Hernandez, CEO at Acision commented: “Operators are facing an explosion in data traffic. As smartphone and tablet use increases, alongside data-heavy applications such as video and social media channels, the network is under increasing pressure to perform to higher standards. At the same time, operators have to balance their need to monetise these networks with maintaining quality of service. As the most comprehensive diameter routing solution on the market, Acision DiSC not only protects network assets but allows operators the flexibility to manage their quality of service, by dynamically routing traffic to safeguard their most important customers and applications.”

JF Sullivan, EVP Product Management and CMO at Acision, added: “LTE investment is key for operators today to ensure that they are meeting consumer demands for more data and speed, but better network management means operators can also focus on the profitability of their LTE rollout. “Our combined DiSC router and broker is hardware independent, allowing operators complete freedom to choose their hardware supplier. It may also be deployed in an operator’s own cloud environment while still delivering telecom grade performance. An intuitive management interface provides a real time view of the connectivity status and current load on all diameter links, enabling easy and non-service affecting reconfiguration. By improving the management, efficiency and scalability of the network with our solution, operators are able to future-proof their LTE investments.”
