Google steps up competition in the cloud space with the launch of its Google Cloud CDN service. Still in the 'Alpha" stage, the new CDN service which rivals the likes of Amazon CloudFront and Microsoft Azure, provides content acceleration for application developers.
According to Google, the Cloud CDN uses Google’s globally distributed edge caches to cache HTTP(S) Load Balanced content close to customers, providing faster delivery of content to users while reducing the load on the client's servers.
