Japanese mobile operator KDDI, announced that it now supports Apple SIM, offering new 4G data plans for iPad travelers in Japan. With Apple SIM installed, iPad customers traveling to Japan can conveniently view and select this "LTE Data Pre-paid" plan directly on their iPad without switching SIM cards. As part of the offer, KDDI is offering a 1GB prepaid data plan for JPY1,500.

Apple SIM which was introduced in October last year during the iPad Air 2 & IPad Mini 3 launch can now be purchased in Japanese Apple stores in addition to Apple Retail Stores in 13 countries including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, US and Turkey.

iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4 and iPad mini 3 Wi-Fi + Cellular models are compatible with the Apple SIM.
