Canada's largest provider of wireless communications services and one of Canada's leading providers of cable television, high-speed Internet and telephony services, Rogers Communications, is teaming up with Spotify to bring music streaming service to customers of Fido, its subsidiary company. This exclusive agreement will give Fido customers a free 24-month subscription to Spotify Premium, that boasts over 30 million songs along with personalized playlists.
Spotify Premium lets users instantly stream ad-free music, with unlimited skips, and even download and listen to them offline. With connection to Roger's LTE wireless network, Spotify Premium will give users access to crisp, clear and consistently fast music streaming on any wireless device, said the company.
Both Roger and Fido have also recently announced a domestic roaming agreement, allowing subscribers of both companies to enjoy voice, text and data usage across both networks at no extra charges.
We know our customers love to stream music and Spotify is the obvious choice for us. Mobile music streaming in Canada is on the rise; with more than half of Canadians between the ages 18 to 34 streaming music on their mobiles. And we're not alone – with over six billion songs streamed online in the last six months of 2014, music streaming is exploding around the globe.
