Grameenphone Revamps Internet Packages to Drive 'Internet for All' in Bangladesh

Grameenphone has recently re-tweaked its internet services to create a wider range of mobile data packages to better cater to the needs of the different customer segments, supporting the company’s effort to provide “Internet for All” in Bangladesh.

The new strategy sees the company introducing packages that are designed by usage - from light to heavy consumption. For light users, the company introduces two short tenure packages, the 4MB pack costing BDT 2 with a validity of two days and a 75 MB pack costing BDT 30 with a validity of 7 days. For moderate users, the Operator offers a 250 MB pack costing BDT 99 & a 1GB pack costing BDT 275 as well as a 2 GB pack for BDT 350. These packs offer a 28 day validity. Further up the scale, Grameenphone introduces the 'heavy browsing pack' for BDT 950 which comes with a longer validity of 28 days and at the far end, heavy users needing a lot of data can take up the 20 GB pack for BDT 2000 with a validity of 30 days.

The company said that the Internet is an empowering tool and data connectivity can help customers pursue their respective goals more effectively. With the impact broadband has on the economy, Grameenphone is putting special emphasis on taking quality Internet around the country and making it useful and affordable for the people, it added.

Allan Bonke, Chief Marketing Officer of Grameenphone
