Netia, a leading telecom operator in Poland, has introduced an innovative solution in which fixed-line Internet access in traditional technology (xDSL) can be accelerated with LTE wireless access.

For an additional PLN 25 per month, customers receive a service that uses two access technologies simultaneously. The '2-in-1 Hybrid Internet' offer combines two services into one - regular stationary Internet access on Netia's copper connections and LTE Mobile Internet with the ODU-IDU 300 set, an internal router with an external antenna, which significantly improves service parameters, enabling transfer speeds up to up to 300 Mbps.

An IDU device (i.e. a Wi-Fi router) cleverly divides traffic by juggling individual Internet sessions In practice, this means that the user has the combined power of two Internet accesses at his disposal, which usually results in higher speed and comfort of using the network.

The 'Dopalacz' ODU-IDU 300 provides 100 GB of data transfer per month during the day and an additional 200 GB at night (between 1:00 am and 8:00 am).

Tomasz Dakowski, General Director of B2C Area at Netia
Netia is investing heavily in modernizing the network to 1 Gb / s fiber speed. For single-family houses and apartments that are beyond the reach of the fiber optic cable, we have prepared an innovative solution that increases the speed of the Internet. This is another step enabling our clients to maximize the speed of access services based on the already existing fixed and mobile infrastructure.
