As most Operators try to work out an effecive model to partner with OTT service providers, Telefónica Digital and Evernote has taken the bold step to start a global partnership enabling Telefonica's Brazil's local mobile brand, Vivo to offer its customers one-year free access to Evernote Premium on a special, limited-time offer. A strategic move for both Vivo and Evernote, this tie-up may begin a flurry of future partnerships between content providers and operators around the world. Evernote, whose brand is synonymous to digital 'sticky-notes', enables users to upload text, pictures, audio and other snippets of information to cloud based storage and retrieve the information on any smart device from anywhere in the world. The service will definitely be of great value to most mobile data subscribers as it provides a practical tool to 'remember everything', as what its tagline promotes, Via the partnership, Vivo's subscribers will enjoy a higher monthly upload limit (1GB), the ability to read notes offline, more security features, more sharing options and faster customer support. If the partnership is extended globally, Evernote will have access to more than 250 million Telefónica mobile customers.
“Our goal is to make people smarter by creating a product that transcends local cultures and tastes while increasing productivity,” said Phil Libin, CEO of Evernote. “We are excited to launch a partnership with Telefónica, one of the leading telecommunications companies in the world, which allows us to bring our products to millions of mobile customers across the globe. By starting our partnership in Brazil, we are able to tap into Vivo’s vast mobile market presence and continue Evernote’s incredible growth in this important country.”
”We are delighted to be able to offer our customers around the world this great service free for a year. Our customers have consistently told us that they desire services that make their life better beyond connectivity. Evernote does just this, but connects personal and business information in a way that actually makes it useable and findable,” said Wayne Thorsen, VP of Global Partnerships of Telefónica Digital.
