Traffic Detection Function (TDF)

Broadband Traffic Management is the practice of managing and controlling network or user traffic based on static or dynamic rules, typically limiting the maximum speed of upload and download. This is a best practice among internet service providers to ensure consistent service quality and user experience. Broadband traffic management is typically imposed during peak hours and during busy hours to control over-usage and network congestion.. Internet service providers will publish a guideline on their broadband traffic management policy which is also called as fair usage policy to assist users to better understand the control mechanism.
