Two of NTT Docomo's subsidiaries, NTT Communications(NTT Com) and NTT DATA together with the leading big data technology company Pivotal are collaborating with Intel for the delivery of cloud-native solutions to accelerate digital transformation for large enterprise companies.

The initiative will include the development, joint testing and delivery of collaboration platforms and the building of open ecosystems that support the digital transformations of enterprises.

Leveraging its cloud-native platform, NTT Com will expand the functionality of its Enterprise Cloud service combining its hosted private cloud service delivered in 11 countries and its multi-tenant cloud service based on OpenStack and Cloud Foundry. NTT Com will also provide cloud-native collaboration framework that enables customers to seamlessly deploy third-party applications and services. Additionally, the company plans to adopt "Pivotal Cloud Foundry," which has a significant global track record as cloud-native platform.

NTT DATA will deliver cloud-native integration services for IoT and digital marketing by leveraging its cloud-native platform and each micro services and API, including AI and big data.

With the Intel Cloud for All initiative, Intel has committed to make enterprise cloud-scale technology simple to deploy and manage across a variety of workloads and industries, in order to accelerate the delivery and cost-effectiveness of tens of thousands of new on-premise and hybrid clouds.

As part of that effort, NTT's cloud infrastructure will be based on Intel Xeon processors and utilize software tools such as Intel's Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK), which greatly boosts packet processing performance and throughput, and other optimizations via the Openstack framework to take full advantage of Intel Architecture capabilities.
