Adtran said that the Mosaic Cloud Platform combines modular apps that have been in a microservices software architecture with open source control and orchestration platforms to create the industry’s first and only solution to deliver open, SDN-based programmability of broadband access networks while maintaining the feature set and functionality of traditional management solutions.
According to ADTRAN, the Mosaic Cloud Platform orchestrates on-demand provisioning of services, applications and resources across the entire access network. The modular, component-based management and control applications enable service providers to seamlessly deploy and upgrade services to all subscribers and/or network elements on the network at the same time.
These network-wide provisioning and management capabilities allow ADTRAN’s customers to deploy services, for the first time, at the network level instead of having to manually provision services on the device or subscriber level. This approach to building open, programmable networks facilitates rapid innovation in multi-technology, multi-vendor environments, said ADTRAN.
Platforms such as the ADTRAN Mosaic Cloud Platform are essential to carriers as they transition to more automation and service agility in order to engage customers via self-service portals. This transition will enable subscribers to easily customize broadband services based on their own unique requirements.
