Vodafone Germany announced that it has rolled out 200 Mbps broadband technology to more than 12 million households, leveraging double vectoring technology. The technology which is an alternative for FTTH deployment, effectively doubles speeds over standard copper wires.
The operator is further expanding its fiber network deployment to cater for demand. It targets to wire 60 percent of all households within its distribution area to be capable of delivering 400Mbps broadband service by autumn 2016.
Vodafone's competitor, Deutsche Telekom revealed in March last year that it planned to extend its vectoring rollout to an additional 5.9 million homes, covering over 80% of its German network by 2018.
