Ukko Mobile Signs 10-year Deal with Digita to Tap its Base Stations

Finnish Mobile Operator, Ukko Mobile has signed a 10-year contract with Digita to tap its base station sites to expand its 4G LTE coverage.  Last year, the operator commercially launched its 4G LTE service in the country, operating in the 450 MHz band which provides wide coverage and relatively low cost deployment, for consumer and business customers.

Digita operates national transmission and broadcasting networks as well as the networks for the radio and television stations in the country. Digita's cell sites are important to Ukko Mobile as it provides the much required base station sites to expand its 4G LTE coverage areas and as backup sites during power outages caused by storms, says the operator in a statement.

In addition, Ukko networks and Digita will also cooperate in base station construction and maintenance for the whole of Finland.
