Huawei and Intel have jointly hosted the second annual China OpenStack Hackathon in Xi'an from 19th to 21st August, showcasing series of OpenStack technical presentations, a programming marathon, and a visit to Huawei’s NFV/SDN Open Labs. The event saw participation from 45 top OpenStack developers from 8 enterprises including 99Cloud, AWCloud, UnitedStack, LETV, Mirantis and IBM.

Since joining the OpenStack Community, Huawei said that it has actively participated in the R&D and optimization of OpenStack.  Huawei also plans to build an OpenStack-based cloud computing solution that will promote IT transformation among carriers. A key Huawei partner, Intel chose OpenStack as a key component of its cloud strategy in 2012 and initiated the China Open Source Cloud Alliance (COSCL) on August 9, 2012.

According to Huawei, by the end of the three-day collaboration, developers had repaired a total of 118 bugs in the OpenStack Liberty release, tripling the results achieved in the first China OpenStack Hackathon last year.
