Huawei, Thursday launched its software-defined networking (SDN)-based Agile Internet-of-Things (IoT) Solution to enable IoT connectivity and management. The Agile Network 3.0 Architecture consists of three core components: LiteOS, an IoT operating system (OS), the Agile Controller and Agile IoT Gateway.

The LiteOS is a lightweight (10KB), open source IoT OS which the company claims as an OS that is three times smaller in size and that consumes four times less power compared to comparable products in the market. It supports zero configuration, auto-discovery, and auto-networking and can be widely applied to different areas including smart homes, wearables and connected vehicles. The LiteOS helps to simplify the development of smart hardware and enables developers to quickly roll out IoT products.

At the same time, Huawei's Agile Controller which is an IoT platform, enables unified management of IoT terminals, gateways, computing resources, applications and data. It also provides seamless scalability to support management and control of increasing IoT terminals. As for its Access Router Series IoT Gateway, it provides more than 17 types of IoT interfaces, which can dynamically load protocols from the Agile Controller according to service requirements.
