Last week, during the International Telecom Week (ITW) in Chicago, STC announced the signing of a bilateral partnership agreement with Etisalat Group for the Interconnection Networks MPLS (multiprotocol label switching). The partnership will enable interconnection of IP services using the MPLS IP VPN (Virtual Private Network) technology for businesses between the two countries and also will also serve the regional and global business sector clients.

STC’s National MPLS offers wide geographic coverage nationally and internationally with international reach enhanced through partnerships with Tier 1 carriers.  STC said that the agreement between the two of the largest providers of telecommunications services in the region, will provide the business sector clients with advanced communications services and meet the demand for high quality connectivity solutions.

Based on the information from STC, businesses are offered six options for QoS levels ranging from a standard best-effort service to a high quality real-time service. STC’s MPLS IP-VPN network which consists of the terabit capacity edge and core routers with a full mesh redundant ultra-high bandwidth links, provides an end-to-end connectivity and allows intranet, extranet and remote access capabilities.
