Ericsson will be exhibiting at the China International Import Expo (CIIE), happening this week in Shanghai. This is the sixth consecutive year that Ericsson is participating in the event, this time with the theme '5G New Wave'. The solutions provider has set up four exhibition areas, namely 'Building Green and Efficient Networks', '5G Smart Factory', 'XR and Holographic Communications' and '6G Vision'.

Under its sustanaibility theme, Ericsson showcased products that underpin its efforts to create a green network, and achieve superior performance with lower energy consumption.

In addition, Ericsson also demonstrated the '5G manhole cover station', jointly developed with local partner operators. This solution allowsg 5G base stations to be easily deployed, and provides a convenient 5G capacity enhancement solution for scenarios with dense crowds and high capacity requirements.

As part of its '5G Smart Factory' showcase, Ericsson exhibited its 5G industrial metaverse application, 'Lego Master', which is being used in the assembly process guidance system of Ericsson's Nanjing 5G smart factory.

Under its '6G Vision' theme, Ericsson conducted two live demonstrations during the event, including a terahertz prototype that can reach an ultra-high downlink rate of 100Gbps, and a vest prototype woven from a large number of sensor fibers. In the future, these devices will only need to store energy generated by surrounding light energy, electromagnetic radiation and even friction to power the system and propagate signals.
