The largest provider of cable television services in Poland Vectra has introduced two new fiber-optic Internet speeds to its offer, ie 2.5 Gb/s and 10 Gb/s.

The fastest commercially available Internet in the world will be launched in 9 cities. By the end of the year, new services will be available to over 220,000. households in 30 cities in the country.

Vectra is the first nationwide operator to join the small group of Internet service providers in the world offering such an advanced service based on the XGS-PON technology. It enables symmetrical data transfer with a nominal speed of 10 Gb/s. In conjunction with the device providing wireless Internet access, which is in the operator's offer, operating in the WiFi 6 standard, it is possible to use digital services at a previously unavailable level.

The offer of new Internet speeds from Vectra is aimed at advanced users who expect above-average data transfers, both in terms of downloading, sending and low latency. It is a product dedicated to IT specialists, artists, graphic designers, music and film producers, or users using various types of streaming platforms who simultaneously use services at home.

Taking full advantage of the potential of new services requires the use of appropriate devices, including those used directly by end users. The XGS-PON 10G technology used by Vectra enables nominal data transfer at a speed of 10 Gb/s. In tests carried out by a team of Vectra engineers, using equipment that can be configured by an individual user, a symmetrical data transfer of 8.1 Gb/s was achieved.

In June, the new speed offer based on Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) connections will be available to residents of selected areas in 9 cities, including: Warsaw, Gdynia, Gdańsk, Wrocław and Olsztyn. The price offer of the new services will be published with the commercial launch in June this year.
