A1 Austria's takeover of NTT's Alcatel-Lucent telephony business in Austria, which was first announced in November last year, is now fully approved by the country's Federal Competition Authority and the Federal Ministry for Digitization and Business Location (Investment Control).
The voice business currently includes customers of all sizes, from small companies to hotels, authorities, hospitals and large corporations. With A1, customers now continue to have a strong service partner at their side, the contract conditions remain the same. Both companies will continue to work closely together in the future: NTT is A1's First Partner for international business.
Around 50 employees of NTT's Alcatel-Lucent business will join A1, with operational integration at A1 to begin in April 2021.
