Roku announced Roku OS 9.3 on March 31 and said that it will start rolling out to Roku devices in the UK in the coming weeks. The free, automatic software update focuses on helping consumers get to content quickly and improving overall performance, said the Company.

Roku OS 9.3 includes features to enhance the performance of media playback and Roku devices in general, and expand platform support for industry standards covering content and meta-data. This release also includes new features such as Roku Voice enhancements and new customization options.

Roku said that the new operating system boasts a reduction in device boot times, faster launch times for a select number of channels and a more responsive Home Screen. In addition, Roku Voice is available on the remote of the Roku Streaming Stick+ and through the Roku Mobile App for all Roku streaming devices. It also works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant devices to enable users to control media playback and search for entertainment. Roku TV users additionally can also tune into channels or inputs, control volume and switch their TV on/off.
