PETER-SERVICE convergent billing solution, BISrt has been tested successfully on Huawei’s hardware. The load tests which were run on Huawei RH5885 V2 servers running VMware VSphere and Linux and Huawei OceanStore S6800T data storage systemswas proven to be fully functional under a simulated load of 36 million subscribers. As for the DB server, a cluster of three nodes running RHEL 6 and ORACLE RDBMS 11.2.0.3 with the Real Application Cluster option was used.

It is expected that this configuration will help telecom operators to cut down hardware acquisition and maintenance, says Peter-Service.

Alexey Mishulovin, head of the load testing team at Peter-Service, said: “When it comes to performance, Huawei’s equipment shows very good results. With a subscriber base of 36 million, the utilization of the central database server remained below 68% per cluster node for most operations.”

Pavel Vishnyakov, senior account manager at Huawei in Russia, added: “The results we have achieved confirm the maturity of our IT solutions and show they are ready for use in business-critical systems, such as BSS, CRM, etc. Given the traditional high quality of Huawei’s products and supreme technical support, our clients will be able to take their business to a whole new level with systems running on Huawei’s servers and storage solutions.”
