PETER-SERVICE convergent billing solution, BISrt has been tested successfully on Huawei’s hardware. The load tests which were run on Huawei RH5885 V2 servers running VMware VSphere and Linux and Huawei OceanStore S6800T data storage systems, was proven to be fully functional under a simulated load of 36 million subscribers. As for the DB server, a cluster of three nodes running RHEL 6 and ORACLE RDBMS 11.2.0.3 with the Real Application Cluster option was used.
It is expected that this configuration will help telecom operators to cut down hardware acquisition and maintenance, says Peter-Service.
Alexey Mishulovin, head of the load testing team at Peter-Service, said: “When it comes to performance, Huawei’s equipment shows very good results. With a subscriber base of 36 million, the utilization of the central database server remained below 68% per cluster node for most operations.”
