Verizon and Globetouch have announced a collaboration to launch upgraded network solutions that will be used by General Motors’ OnStar to bolster its connected vehicle services.

Globetouch will integrate its open platform GControl with OnStar to enable reliable, high-quality connectivity and regulatory compliance for OnStar services. Verizon Telematics will bring scale and network expertise to the solution.

More recently, Globetouch has acquired IoT solutions provider Indian Startup Teramatrix to leverage and integrate the Teramatrix xFusion platform to create high value IoT applications that support Connected Cars, Autonomous Driving, predictive maintenance and edge intelligence.

The acquisition complements Globetouch's existing global connectivity suite and IoT platform which manages the intersection of big data, machine learning and autonomous systems for some of the world’s largest enterprise customers.
