Active Broadband Networks, the leading supplier of software-defined broadband service management solutions, introduces a new Prepaid Service System (PPSS), an integrated solution for automated prepaid transaction processing and service activation that enables the Web-based activation of cable modems at the subscriber premise using standard credit or debit card transactions.

Active Broadband Networks says, the PPSS will enable cable operators to rapidly deploy prepaid broadband services independent of existing provisioning and billing systems and to fully automate prepaid transaction processing, cable modem activation, service monitoring, and prepaid renewals or terminations.

"Broadband providers seek to extract as much revenue as possible from their existing network investments," said Adam Dunstan, CEO of Active Broadband. "Our prepaid solution offers cable operators a highly integrated, cost-effective way to rapidly deploy prepaid services without incurring heavy OSS/BSS development and integration costs, allowing them to address the needs of underserved customers who are not a good fit for postpaid services."
