BT Sport Signs Deal for Exclusive Live Bundesliga Coverage

BT Sport extends exclusively live Bundesliga coverage

BT Sport has signed a new deal to show exclusively live German Bundesliga football in the UK and Republic of Ireland until the year 2021. The deal enables BT Sports customers to enjoy a line up of exclusive live matches that include the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Serie A and Ligue 1.

The new contract starts in September 2017 and will run until the end of the 2020/21 season and extends BT’s current rights to show top flight football from Germany. BT Sport will also have the rights to the annual DFL Supercup matches, German Bundesliga 2 matches, plus previews and highlights shows.

The deal is in addition to BT Sport’s exclusive coverage of elite European competitions including the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Serie A in Italy and Ligue 1 in France. It will also coincide with BT Sport now broadcasting Barclay’s Premier League for the new season on Saturday evenings.

Delia Bushell, Managing Director of BT TV & BT Sport
We’re delighted to have won the tender for the next period of Bundesliga rights, enabling us to continue to be the home of the Bundesliga and German football until 2021.

TJörg Daubitzer, managing director, DFL Sports Enterprises
We’re delighted BT Sport will continue to offer the best of German football and bring some of the best entertainment and world class players to millions of fans and households across the UK and Ireland. BT Sport has and will continue to be held in high regard at the DFL and that is reflected in their high quality broadcasting and reporting.
