Reliance Jio has kick-started the registration process for its potential 4G service customers through its newly launched Jio.com website. This will be the first step towards the long-awaited commercial launch of its 4G service nationwide.
Late last year, the new entrant to India's mobile scene launched a pilot for its 4G network by offering the service to its employees and their families across India. The launch saw a gala event organized at the Navi Mumbai at the Reliance Corporate Park with a performance by India's Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan.
At the same time, the operator has started selling its Lyf smartphones with pre-installed SIM cards for the high-speed service in India's bigger cities. This is the first time regular consumers will get access to the Jio 4G network after its debut last year.
