The second largest mobile operator in Canada, TELUS has launched its VoLTE (Voice over LTE) service with an initial rollout for customers in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, giving users a number of key improvements such as increased availability of HD Voice service, simultaneous use of voice and LTE data and faster call set-up. Its two other rivals, Rogers and Bell have already launched the service.

At launch, the service will be supported on Samsung S6 and LG G4 smartphones with more devices to be supported in near future.

There will be no additional fees for using the VoLTE service and it does not use any of customers' allotted data. The service however will start off with just voice calling, with video calling to be added in future.
