The largest mobile operator in Turkey, Turkcell has officially launched 4.5G in the country as LTE-A services on its network went live at midnight on the 31st of March. 

With its 4.5G launch, Turkcell will be offering the LTE-Advanced service across 81 city centers in Turkey. Download speeds of up to 390 Mbps were achieved during the speed tests which were carried out simultaneously in 5 cities during the launch.

For its data service, Turkcell said that it maintains an open access attitude in its products and services, including its OTT services, and serves not only its own mobile subscribers, but also the customers of all other operators.
