3 Denmark, recently launched Wifi Calling service, enabling its subscribers to make calls and send text messages in buildings with poor mobile signals. Residential and business customers with Free Speech subscriptions and an iPhone 5C or newer iPhone model with Apple's latest version of IOS (9.3) will be able to access the service.

Once wi-fi calling is enabled in the phone settings, it will automatically select the network with the best signal when the customer tries to make a call or send a text message.

Besides using the feature when in commercial buildings, customers can also use it when they are at home, especially in newer houses which boast energy-saving windows and modern insulation, where it is difficult for mobile signals to penetrate.

The largest operator in Denmark, TDC, has also started a pilot of the service last year and is expected to launch the service soon.
