Telefónica which operates in 20 countries and serves approximately 325 million customers has partnered with Assurant Solutions to develop and launch the first mobile device upgrade and buyback program in Chile, dubbed as Movistar ONE which also includes device protection, device trade-in via retail stores and device upgrades.
Assurant Solutions, a business segment of Assurant, specializes in mobile device protection and extended protection programmes and services in North and South America, the Caribbean, Asia and Europe.
Assurant Solutions said that it has worked with Telefónica for several years in other Latin American countries, providing mobile device protection programs in Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Argentina. Both companies have also recently launched a device upgrade and buyback program in Spain.
