Deutsche Telekom(DT) selects Akamai Cloud Networking to enhance its business IP-VPN service, expanding its international portfolio for corporate customers. The partnership with Akamai, a global leader in content delivery network (CDN) services, will help DT to lead in the European corporate business.

The new IP-VPN offering from Deutsche Telekom will utilize Akamai Cloud Networking Internet Optimization capabilities to bolster the performance of Internet IP-VPN traffic for enterprises. Deutsche Telekom has developed a solution that leverages Akamai technology to identify the best performing routes across the Internet to significantly improve the quality of transmission for Enterprise Networks. When a better performing route is identified, data is dynamically diverted in real time. This makes the delivery of Enterprise critical applications over the Internet faster and more stable, said the operator.

Deutsche Telekom will provide the new service as of beginning of 2016.

Patrick Molck-Ude, Network Business, Deutsche Telekom Corporate Customers
We want to continue growing with corporate customers, and coming from our position as number one in Germany, we want to advance our position in the European market and internationally with our new portfolio.

Willie M. Tejada, SVP & General Manager, Cloud Networking, Akamai
As an increasing number of enterprises look to leverage the Internet as a mission critical application delivery channel, the performance and reliability challenges become more apparent.
