Australia's third-largest telecommunications provider, Vodafone this week unveiled a major revamp to its mobile plans as it battles to win back market share from rivals, Telstra and Optus. The move saw the company promosing more data, unlimited standard national calls and texts for all new prepaid and postpaid plans, elimination of bill shocks and free access to streaming content such as Spotify.
As part of the revamp, Vodafone Australia has increased its monthly data caps across many of its plans including offering 10GB (previously 6GB) of data for its $100 Red plan and 6GB (previously 4.5GB) for the $60 monthly plan. In addition, Vodafone customers on these plans will have acces to free Spotify or Stan subscriptions, unlimited calls and texts, AU$5 worth of global roaming and an allocation of 120 minutes of international calling.
In addition, all Vodafone Australia's new postpaid plans will come with shareable data usage and the Operator also introduced a new data control self-service feature for its shared plans customers that gives the primary user the ability to turn data ‘on and off’ on other smartphones via the MyVodafone app if someone on the shared plan is using more than their fair share of data.

We know the fear of bill shock is holding many Australians back from using their smartphones with confidence. When our customers make a call, whether here or overseas, or stream a song, we want them to do this without worrying about receiving a big bill. Bill shock continues to be a nightmare for some Australian consumers. While we’re already confronting the issue head-on with some market leading solutions, today we’re stepping up our campaign.
