SoftBank Japan has entered into a partnership with Over-the-Top (OTT) giant, Netflix to exclusively offer a fully integrated Netflix service in Japan which includes single billing for its services.  

Under the agreement, SoftBank customers will be able to opt in for Netflix at SoftBank Shops, major electronics retailers, via the SoftBank website and via SoftBank call centers without additional registration. In addition, SoftBank will begin pre-installing the Netflix app on its smartphones for sale from October this year.

Netflix will launch its service on the 2nd of September and will be offering three content plans in Japan -  Basic Plan:– Single-stream standard definition for 650 JPY (pre-tax); Standard Plan: Two-stream high definition for 950 JPY (pre-tax) and Premium Plan:– Four-stream 4K ultra-high definition “family” plan for 1,450 JPY (pre-tax).
