Belgian operator, Proximus reinforces its cloud service offers for medium and small businesses(SMEs) with the launch of ‘Proximus SME in the Cloud’. The managed cloud solution which is charged on a pay per use model sees the Operator bringing the SMEs' IT infrastructure into the cloud, leveraging the connectivity, storage and computing provided by Proximus' secure data centers. The 'SME in the Cloud’ service, said Proximus, is implemented via collaboration with a network of independent ICT partners across Belgium, including ClearMedia.
The deployment of the service, according to Proximus, will allow workers to 'bring' their workstations wherever they go. The Mobile Workstations can be accessed on any device that is connected to the Internet, creating personal desktop profiles for each user while providing access to a suite of productivity tools. At present, users have access to email, Microsoft Office: the latest version of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, antivirus, unlimited storage space and computing power. It also gives clients options to have Office 365 communication and collaboration tools, including a local license of the Microsoft Office, OneDrive storage and Lync.
