Even as global travel resumes, Singapore's TPG moves quickly by adding 50 new destinations to the existing 7 on the list where subscribers pay nothing more for up to 2GB of data while roaming.

Prior to this, the 1GB or 2GB of roaming data already included in all TPG plans was primarily for roaming to neighbouring countries only. In anticipation of the pent-up demand for personal travel, the additional destinations now include USA, UK, South Korea and other popular holiday destinations.

The expanded free roaming list would mean that anyone with a TPG mobile plan travelling to Australia, for example, would not be charged for the first 1GB (or 2GB for the SO80 SIM Only plan). This would typically be sufficient with prudent usage. Excess charges for data usage beyond the free tier have also been brought down to an affordable S$4/GB for these 57 destinations.

Beyond the 57 destinations, the rest of the world is divided into three other groups and pay-per-use rates are at $6/GB, $15/GB and $30/GB for each of these groups. The sum total of 124 destinations available to TPG roaming subscribers cover all popular travel choices.

Richard Tan, CEO of TPG Telecom
We continue to innovate to bring value to our customers. With the opening of the VTL arrangements, the inclusion of free data roaming service in the base plan is an exciting enhancement and we have ensured that additional roaming data is affordably priced so that our users need not worry about high roaming charges. Subscribers can also leverage our TPG Voice App to make and receive calls without incurring the usual roaming surcharges.
