MASMOVIL Group last week launched its 5G services trial across 15 cities in Spain, under the banner of its low-cost Yoigo brand.

In these specified regions, customers of Yoigo will be able to enjoy a host of new 5G services, with higher browsing speeds and lower latency connections among its many other benefits.

MASMOVIL Group will be offering these services via its existing network and the deployment of its own 5G antennas, and partly through its access to rival telecom operator Orange Spain's infrastructure.

The new range of services will be available at no additional cost to all Yoigo customers - both fiber and mobile convergence, and mobile-only subscribers who enjoy its current portfolio of rates. In addition to this, Yoigo will offer its customers the widest and most competitive range of terminals, provided in the best condition so that they can test 5G technology to its fullest.

This launch will allow the company to utilize its 5G spectrum in the 3.5GHz band. MASMOVIL Group, which owns 80MHZ of this spectrum, claims that it has the highest amount of 5G spectrum per customer compared to other operators in Spain.

Meinrad Spenger, CEO, MASMOVIL Group
We are very happy to allow our Yoigo customers to test 5G technology at no additional cost and we hope this will help us continue to be the most satisfied in Spain. In addition, we offer them the most competitive offer of 5G terminals so that they can enjoy this service.
