GlobalConnect Denmark Acquires Fiber Infra from Wizer

GlobalConnect Denmark has signed an agreement with Danish broadband provider Wizer, to acquire its entire fiber infrastructure covering approximately 20,000 homes. GlobalConnect operates as Onefiber in the Danish FTTH (fiber-to-the-home) market.

The acquisition significantly grows GlobalConnect’s footprint in Denmark and solidifies its ambitions to digitize society with future-proof fiber infrastructure across Northern Europe. Its strategy is to both grow organically and by acquisition.

Recent milestones include the acquisition of communications operator Open Universe from Telenor Sweden and connecting its first homes in its fiber rollout efforts in Northern Germany. The agreement has been signed, and the transaction is expected to be finalized in May 2022. The purchase price is an undisclosed 3-digit million DKK.

Martin Lippert, CEO GlobalConnect Group
We are dedicated to playing our part in accelerating digitization and promoting social inclusion across society. This latest acquisition significantly grows our footprint in Denmark, and we will continue to explore possible acquisitions across all our markets, given that they can contribute to an even stronger offering to our customers and fit into our strategy.
