Operators are jumping on the LTE bandwagon with commercial launches of LTE services
picking up across the world, allowing users globally to experience high speed connection on their mobile devices. According to the latest update of the Evolution to LTE report from Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA), there are already 194 operators who have done so in 75 countries
around the globe, expanding the number of countries with LTE services by 70% compared to the past year. The shift to LTE/4G network signifies a major shift in the data networks worldwide as operators will now be able to supply bigger volumes of data across their networks while providing a host of new services on cellalur devices including video chats, video conferencing, mobile office services, real time file sharing and mutl player gaming - all of which required increased bandwith. The inherent architecture of the LTE network will also enable certain services such as WiFi offloading to be readily built-in, making it easier for Operators to optimise their networks and provide seamless roaming for subscribers. According to the report, another 443 operators are at various stages of investing and launching their LTE services, ranging from trials to deployments and expects another 260 new commercial launches by end of this year.
Alan Hadden, President of the GSA, stated: "LTE is an industry success. We have raised our market outlook in view of the quickening pace of commitments and deployments. GSA forecasts there will be 260 commercially launched networks in 93 countries by end 2013."
