Dell’Oro Group forecasts USD6 billion annual spending for Voice Core -Uptrend for VoLTE and IMS

Based on a recent report by Dell’Oro Group, a research company specializing the telecommunication industry, the expenditure on voice core elements especially the LTE and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Core is expected to keep an upward trend over the coming years. The shift from Voice to VoLTE will be one of the most significant technological milestone in the mobile communications segment as it sees the data and voice merging on common data bearers with the enhancement of the end-to-end QoS control and management. According to Dell'Oro Group, the service provider voice core equipment spending over the next five years is expected to remain relatively constant at nearly $6 billion per year.
