iLook, San Jose-based company founded in 2009, has launched a system that is designed to convert YouTube channels into mobile video apps similar to watching the traditional TV channels. iLook said users only need to login into their YouTube channel from www.ilook.tv, where its TVapp platform automatically generates a mobile app and submits it to supported app stores, where it then becomes available for download by consumers.
According to iLook, a startup that aims to create TV marketplace for video aggregators, video owners and advertisers, its users do not need to code their mobile apps or sign up for a separate iOS or Android developer account. The company said it also enables advanced features such as video uploading (linking one or more YouTube channels to the user’s iLook account), syndication (exporting and importing videos from other iLook user accounts), and three “monetization methods” – pay-per-view, subscriptions and ad insertion.
