Italy's largest telecom operator, Telecom Italia Wednesday announced the appointment of Flavio Cattaneo as Chief Executive Officer of the company, replacing Marco Patuano who quit earlier this month following disagreements with France's Vivendi, the company's biggest shareholder.
Flavio Cattaneo, 52 was the former head of Italian broadcaster RAI and and was already a non-executive director at Telecom Italia prior to the appointment. Cattaneo who has a degree in Architecture from Milan Polytechnic and has specialized training in business management, was most recently the head of Italian railway group Italo.
