Telenor Group today announced the appointment of Sharad Mehrotra as the CEO of Telenor India, taking over from Vivek Sood who has been appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer within the Telenor Group. Mehrotra comes from the position of Chief Marketing Officer of Telenor Myanmar, and was part of the Telenor India management team for more than four years from 2008.

The group operator has also made changes to the structure of its Executive Management team with participation from all its 13 markets. The new Executive Management team reflects the Group’s international footprint with nine members in the new team being non-Norwegians.

Under the new structure, Telenor Group has appointed Ruza Sabanovic as Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Technology Officer, Wenche Agerup as EVP and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and Jon Gravråk as EVP and Chief Digital Officer. 

This will also see Pål Wien Espen taking the position as the EVP and Head of Partner Relations Asia, while Morten Karlsen, EVP, will be responsible for Telenor’s ownership in VimpelCom and in driving selected strategic projects.
