Qosmos Thursday announced the appointment of Nicolas Bouthors, ex-CTO and founder of Volubill as Chief Technology Officer. In his new role, Nicolas will lead Qosmos’ technology strategy and vision, driving the company’s initiatives for next generation open and virtualized networks. He will also be responsible for Qosmos’ contributions to standards and open source projects such as ONF, OpenStack, OpenDaylight, ETSI and IETF.

With over 20 years of experience in telecommunications and networking, Nicolas brings a wealth of engineering and innovation expertise. Prior to his stint at Volubill, a company specializing in Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) for mobile networks, Nicolas played a key role in the creation of HP’s OpenCall business. Then as the R&D manager of Innovatel, the advanced research organization of SFR, Nicolas led several innovation projects on mobile Internet.
