Reliance Infocomm, just months before its big 4G LTE nationwide launch has announced Rainer Deutschmann as the Chief Product and Innovation Officer for the company. Rainer, an ex-T-Mobile executive who hails from Harvard Business School and who holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Munich, will be relocating to Mumbai from London.

Rainer brings along vast experience in product and innovation, having lead similar portfolio at Deutsche Telekom, and is touted to have turned around T-Mobile's UK operations in his capacity as the Chairman of its Board of Directors. Rainer will be incharge of devising market strategy while driving a number of key verticals including mobile Internet, content and software.

He will be reporting directly to the Group's chairman, Ambani and  Manoj Modi who is spearheading Reliance's re-entry into telecom, according to sources aware of this development.
